Woman Cited For Public Drunkenness
A 34-year- old McConnellsburg woman has been cited for public drunkenness during an early morning fall in McConnellsburg Borough.

Pennsylvania State Police in McConnellsburg alleged Christine Angela Blake left a local bar at 1:25 a.m. after consuming several alcoholic beverages on Sunday, January 13. While walking near the intersection of Poplar and Third streets, Blake reportedly passed out and struck her head on the ground.
EMS was alerted, and Blake was transported to Fulton County Medical Center. Due to the severity of her head injury, police said she was then transferred to Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center.
Charges have been filed through Magisterial District Judge Wendy Mellott.
Vehicle Rolls Onto Side
A Warfordsburg man was not injured when his westbound 2003 Dodge Ram ran off Hill Road, struck a ditch and rolled onto its driver’s side. Driver William J. Grabowski, 48, was wearing a seat belt when the Bethel Township crash occurred on January 23 at 3:52 a.m. He will be cited for driving too fast for roadway conditions.
Two Uninjured In Accident
Two Shade Gap, Pa., residents escaped injury during a vehicle rollover along Aughwick Road on Tuesday, January 15.
According to state police reports, Anthony S. Mooney, 36, was travelling northbound at an estimated speed of 35 miles per hour when he lost control of his 1998 GMC Safari. The vehicle slid off the Todd Township roadway at 11:49 p.m., down an embankment and overturned.
The vehicle was disabled and was towed from the scene. Mooney and passenger Robert C. Mooney, 37, were both wearing seat belts. Anthony S. Mooney was cited by state police for driving on roadways laned for traffic.
Accused Of Stealing Car
A Hedgesville, W.Va., man is accused of stealing a vehicle from Town Hill Auto in Brush Creek Township, state police said. Twenty-sevenyear old Jesse Lee Gibson allegedly stole the Kia Optima from the Warfordsburg-area business located along Old 126 and proceeded to drive to West Virginia. He was apprehended by West Virginia State Police.
Driver Crosses Road
A driver temporarily blinded by the sun drove into the oncoming lane of traffic along Buck Valley Road and crashed into a fellow motorist.
According to state police reports, Cory A. DeShong, 22, of McConnellsburg, was rounding a left-hand curve on Saturday, January 19, when he was unable to see due to the sun. DeShong’s westbound 2005 Dodge Neon travelled into the oncoming lane and struck a 2004 Chevrolet Silverado driven by Adriel F. Fletcher, 46, of Warfordsburg.
Both vehicles were disabled during the 4:42 p.m. head-on collision. Neither driver was injured. DeShong will be cited for failure to drive on the right side of the road.
Maryland Man Cited For DUI
A Hancock, Md., man will be cited for driving under the influence of alcohol as a result of a traffic stop along Great Cove Road on Sunday, January 27. Pennsylvania State Police in McConnellsburg said they stopped the vehicle driven by 59-year-old David Harold Bivens just north of the intersection of Interstate 70. Police alleged Bivens was observed driving erratically prior to the 12:48 a.m. stop. Charges will be filed through Magisterial District Judge Tamela Bard.
Two Injured In Collision
Two drivers escaped injury during a collision along North Valley Road last Friday afternoon, state police reported.
Police said Timothy K. Mosebey, 66, of Wells Tannery, was attempting to cross North Valley Road at 2:15 p.m. when he pulled into the path of a northbound 2001 Mercury Sable driven by Mark D. Loucks, 43, of East Freedom. Police further noted Mosebey’s 2011 GMC Yukon was crossing the Wells Tannery roadway from the intersection of Ford Road to Mosebey Road when the accident occurred.
Both men were wearing a seat belt. Mosebey will be cited by state police for vehicles crossing a roadway.
Two Vehicles Disabled
Pennsylvania State Police in McConnellsburg reported two vehicles became disabled along an ice-covered Interstate 70 last Thursday morning.
Police stated Robert L. Shoemaker, 53, of Hancock, Md., was travelling westbound at a rate of speed too fast for existing roadway conditions. He lost control of his 2003 Dodge Ram, which slid into an embankment and a road sign. Police added that a rear tire was knocked loose and rolled onto the Bethel Township roadway, where it was struck by a 2001 Lincoln LS driven by Dante A. Coleman, 47, of Paeonian Springs, Va.
Both Shoemaker and Coleman were using a seat belt and were not harmed. Their vehicles were removed from the scene by Jaz’s Towing and Lucky 13 Towing following the 6:15 a.m. accident. Shoemaker is slated to be cited for driving a vehicle at unsafe speeds.
Two Charged With Harassment
Two McConnellsburg residents are facing charges of harassment following an altercation at 506 Lincoln Way East, McConnellsburg. State police reported 18-year-old April Marie Maloff and George Alan Lashley, 22, allegedly shoved and grabbed one another during a January 25 7: 11 p. m. fight. Charges will be filed through Magisterial District Judge Wendy Mellott.
Five McConnellsburg residents suffered injuries ranging from minor to major during a two-vehicle accident along Great Cove Road on Friday, January 25.
Pennsylvania State Police in McConnellsburg said Cassandra K. English, 23, was waiting to turn left from Great Cove Road onto Knobsville Road when her 2009 Nissan Rogue was struck from behind by a northbound 2001 Dodge Grand Caravan operated by Teniel C. Mellott, 31. Police added Mellott attempted to stop prior to the collision, but her van slid on the snowcovered Todd Township roadway.
Mellott suffered major injuries while her passengers, a 2-year-old girl and 9-year-old boy, suffered minor injuries. English and her passenger, Zachary S. English, 23, also suffered minor injuries. All individuals involved were using a seat belt or a child safety seat. All individuals were transported by McConnellsburg Ambulance following the 1:35 p.m. accident to Fulton County Medical Center for treatment.
Mellott will be cited by state police for driving a vehicle at unsafe speeds.
DUI Charges Filed
Charges of driving under the influence have been filed against a Warfordsburg area man following a traffic stop along Buck Valley Road on January 6. Troopers said they stopped 50-year- old Ernest Eugene Hixon at 1:38 a.m. after he allegedly drove his vehicle across the centerline of the roadway several times. Charges against Hixon have been filed through Magisterial District Judge Tamela Bard.
Harassment Charges Filed
Charges of harassment have been filed through Magisterial District Judge Devin Horne against a Hustontown area man. State police said Martin Ray Clark, 29, was cited after becoming involved in an argument with a 40-yearold Hustontown woman on Wednesday, January 23. Clark is accused of shutting a door on the woman’s armduring the 11:35 p.m. fight at 159 North Clear Ridge Road
Hit-And-Run Accident Reported
A 57-year- old man informed state police investigators that a hit-and-run accident occurred on his Brush Creek Township property located at the intersection of Thunder Rock Road and Lincoln Highway.
A JB Hunt tractor-trailer reportedly attempted to turn around on the property between midnight and 2 a.m. on Wednesday, January 23. During the attempted turnaround, the truck damaged the man’s lawn, mailbox and pulled down a telephone wire.

Car Rolls Over
A southbound 2010 Toyota Corolla traveled off Waterfall Road, struck a traffic sign and rolled over on Thursday, January 24, state police said. Driver Jared M. Everetts, 21, of Saltillo, was not injured during the 6:08 a.m. crash just south of the intersection of North Madden Road. He was wearing a seat belt. State police are slated to charge Everetts with driving a vehicle at unsafe speeds.
Vehicle Strikes Embankment
Pennsylvania State Police in McConnellsburg were dispatched to a single-vehicle accident along Aughwick Road on Monday, January 28.
Police reported Victoria L. Pittman, 43, of Mc- Connellsburg was travelling northbound at 5:45 a.m. when she lost control of her 1999 Oldsmobile Alero. The vehicle spun clockwise several times and struck an embankment.
Pittman and her passenger Nicky L. Strait, 22, of Needmore, were wearing seat belts and escaped injury. Pittman is slated to be charged with driving on roadways laned for traffic.
Franklin County Man Accused Of Making Threats
A 26-year-old Chambersburg man has been accused of making terroristic threats following a verbal altercation on Friday, January 25, along Tritle Drive.
Pennsylvania State Police in McConnellsburg alleged Timothy Wayne Spoonhour pushed a 25-year-old woman to the ground and kicked her at 10:45 p.m. during an argument. A short time later, Spoonhour reportedly made numerous threats while menacing the victim. Charges against Spoonhour will be filed through Magisterial District Judge Wendy Mellott.
State police troopers responded to the Family Dollar Store in the Penn’s Village Shopping Center for a criminal mischief. Police alleged 18-year-old McConnellsburg resident Jason Thomas Lotherman threw a rock into the store’s front door at 2:17 a.m. on Sunday, January 27. Charges against Lotherman will be filed through Magisterial District Judge Wendy Mellott.
A vehicle located at 538 Crossroads Road in Ayr Township was damaged on Monday, January 28, at 12:20 a.m., state police reported. A 15-year-old male is accused of damaging the vehicle belonging to a 47-year-old Mc- Connellsburg woman.
